I made friends who I would have never crossed paths with had I not chosen to live in the dorm.Academic SupportHaving a study space in the dorm was a huge advantage. It provided a convenient place to study and allowed me to be more productive during my study hours. The fact that I could access help and support from my peers whenever needed was also a plus.The BadNoise PollutionOne of the downsides of dorm life is noise pollution. There were times when my neighbors were noisy until late at night, interrupting my sleep. It could be frustrating, especially when you have an early class the next day.Loss of PrivacyWith shared spaces come limited privacy. While this can be fun at times, there were times when I craved for some privacy. It could be challenging when trying to study or simply relax without being interrupted.Feeling IsolatedDespite being in a community, there were times when I felt isolated. This was especially true when my roommate was away or when I was too busy to socialize with others.
